Profile: Minus (M_Nus) – Canadian record label, DJ and musician Richie Hawtin. It was founded in 1998 and was conceived as a place where published to electronic music with a minimalist sound. In contrast to the label Plus 8, which was published more music intended for dance floor with enough hard slope, the concept Minus was sharpened by minimalism, which tended Richie Hawtin. On this label, Richie released several albums of his famous project Plastikman, a compilation of his series of conceptual Concept, plus the debut here (or were more widely known), many young musicians, such as Mathew Jonson, Matthew Dear, Marc Houle, Magda, Troy Pierce and some other .

Erman Erim was born in 1981 in Neumarkt close to Nurnberg where he is proud to be from. Although he is fascinated by big metropolises like Berlin or especially Istanbul (where some of his family members resides) because of their cultural and musical richness. He appreciates his Bavarian home as being a good place to calm down and to get new inspiration. There he established an impressive reputation being a resident at the local "Zoom Club" and he has made a name for himself with his live-jams on the keyboard being part of his music performances. With his first release "4 Takt EP" Terminal M showcases his sound to a bigger audiance and will support him for his coming tour. His music was influenced by the diversified DJ-sets of his brother and by idols like Antony Rother, Monika Kruse and Richie Hawtin. Especially Hawtin's album "Closer To The Edit" fascinates him very much. Erman's sound distinguishes itself by his accentuated melodics and by the charm of live performances. For most of his tracks are directly recorded from nighttime studio sessions and afterwards they are reworked/edited only a little bit. Erim: "This has to work at one try. At a certain point it makes "click", you have a nice melody and you know that everything what you need now is a bassline and certain further elements. Then you work on that a little bit and in the morning the track is finished." The ability to record the melodies and to arrange live springs from his early passion for playing the piano. There are photos from his childhood where you can see him as the little virtuoso on the organ at the age of three. And not long after a big passion for other musical instruments – especially those with keys & buttons arose from that dalliance. Erim likes playing classical or even jazzy pieces and has a passion for film music. So it happens from time to time that you can find him in his studio composing his own sound tracks for film scores. And sometimes he also records his percussion, to use as samples for his own productions. He always plays by ear – never caring about musical notation. The fact that he still listens to the most diverse music styles like classical music, Jazz, Pop, Rock n' Roll as well as American and German Hip Hop shows his exceptional open-mindedness. Besides his musical interests he is crazy about the Spanish city Sevilla, where he gained allot of new impressions during a occupational six months stay. His goal for the future is to completely concentrate on and to be supported by music. That rocks!!!!

1. Two Door Cinema Club \"Something Good Can Work\"
They’re very young, very shy, very three, very Northern Irish. They’re into melody, very much so. We believe in them. Close your eyes and here you are: somewhere else. The most beautiful song there is.

2. We Have Band \"Time After Time\"
They’re young too, also three, although there’s a couple in the trio. A mental energy on stage that’s left the Parisian audience of a Kitsunй En Vrai gig totally battered. Proper heroes.

3. Phoenix \"Lisztomania (CLASSIXX Version)\"
Here’s the first single of the long awaited new Phoenix album, remixed by the new Los Angeles scene: Classixx. A production that’s evocative of a Corvette in the sun, carefree, before it all gets dangerously heated up. Quite convenient too when you’re fifteen (at least spiritually) to French kiss for a whole five minutes.

4. Crystal Fighters \"Xtatic Truth\"
They say: ”We make dance music with Basque instruments, synths and our voices”. In London people talk of Folktronica. At Kitsunй’s headquarter in Montmartre, we find that it opens the door quite a bit and let fresh air comes in.

5. The Golden Filter \"Favourite Things\"
The italo-disco scene revitalized by these New Yorkers who have been close to Kitsunй for a long time. The girl goes through her list of favorite things and that’s enough for us: ”coffee, sugar, ice cream, vintage dresses, kittens, rabbits, Paris, nice girls, cute boys”. Feels familiar.

6. La Roux \"In For The Kill (Lifelike Remix)\"
Here La Roux is remixed by Lifelike, mr glamour from Strasbourg. These days she’s one of the most fashionable artists in the Kitsunй Maison. The track is as smooth as a yellow Testarossa that won’t stop, just like Donna Summer’s endless orgasms. The beat revolves around broken glass, yes we drink Russian-style at Kitsunй.

7. Beni \"Fringe Element (Short Like Me Edit)\"
Young, charismatic producer, he makes club music. He’s part of the good, ebullient Aussie scene. The track takes an unexpected turn, in discotheque slang it’s called ‘major sweating’.

8. autoKratz \"Always More (Yuksek Remix)\"
The band of the moment remixed by the remixer of the moment, a healthy Manchester/Paris connectivity. The break is sublime : ‘take my hand, you can break my heart’ sung through a vocoder. We don’t aim to be too lyrical but… In June 2009 Kitsunй releases Autokratz’s album.

9. 80kidz \"Miss Mars\"
A Tokyo trio that’s crept up on the electro radar these last few months. They’re extremely polite, take great care of the way they dress; they’re Japanese and we believe the best of their scene right now.

10. James Yuill \"This Sweet Love (Prins Thomas Sneaky Edit)\"
Atmospheric and acoustic, check the contrast between the simplicity of the voice and the richness of the Prins Thomas remix. Extremely beautiful song, another vision of the sun. Because we’re talking of a maison and not a barn, Kitsunй likes to relax but not let go totally.

11. Men \"Make It Reverse\"
There had to be an act who would call itself Men. The lesbian scene moves in la Maison. A very militant sound, alternative sexuality, new hormones for a new life. They have as much energy as ‘radicality’, it quickly entices you to jump up and down. Very good very loud at four in the morning to do what you do at four in the morning.

12. Chew Lips \"Solo\"
The sound of east London now today, not just another guitar band. Music that experiments and improvises among four tons of influences. The city’s urgency, the impatience, the vitality, the whirling.

13. Chateau Marmont \"Beagle\"
The thirteen track on the seventh Maison. Here are some French people impressed by the luxurious Californian hotel where fashionable actors come to die. They’re childhood friends, into science fiction, and down the end a sound quite hard to grasp.

14. Heartsrevolution \"????????\"
The band behind the craziest track of Maison 6 makes a welcome return. Their album will come out in September 2009 and love will rain. They’re handsome, they have a Swarovski microphone, plenty of ideas, they’ll go a long way. True idols.

15. Delphic \"Counterpoint (Delphic’s En Route Mix)\"
Delphic is a British band from Manchester, Kitsunй will release their album in September 2009. Influences range from Orbital to Underworld, very much what we like. To listen at sunset, sunrise and in between.

16. Encore –
An empty index, the moment people scream for an encore at a concert.

17. MayBB \"Touring In NY (Short Tour Edit)\"
Here hides a very, very famous guy who doesn’t wish to be named. So we can’t give away much, it’ll drive you crazy, but really we can’t tell you more.

18. Renaissance Man \"Rythym\"
They’re Finnish from Helsinki, used to be students with Abдke, Kitsunй’s graphic designers. Yes there is nepotism too at Kitsunй. The result could be used as soundtrack for contemporary ballet, it sure cleans the aural pipes.

19. Tanlines \"Bejan\"
Tribal and epic music from New York. Their own press release sums it up perfectly: ”Balearic and disco Larry Levan-style with an insistent euphoric charm that’s perfect to blow up the soft-skinned British students.”

From "Butter" to "Cornelius" to the Steve Aoki assisted "Warp 1.9" The Bloody Beetroots have put out banger after banger in the past year, dominating clubs and inspiring countless remixes. These tracks, along with a heap of brand new gems will make up The Beetroots’ highly anticipated debut album, Romborama, out August 25th on Dim Mak Records. In addition to Aoki, the album also boasts guest appearances by as The Cool Kids, Justin Pearson (The Locust, Head Wound City), Ed Banger artist Vicarious Bliss, and many more. Since bursting onto the scene in 2007, The Bloody Beetroots, a.k.a. Italian producer and polymath Bob Rifo, has brought a sense of danger to dance floors across the globe. Armed with an endless supply of infectious beats, Rifo injects his thunderous grooves with the chaos and larger-than-life persona of late 70’s British punk and Oi! The juxtaposition of seemingly incompatible styles of music doesn’t end there. Rifo studied classical composers for years, and this influence is apparent on numerous tracks on Romborama. But make no mistake, whether Rifo is channeling the spirit of Beethoven, The Misfits, or something in between, The Beetroots’ primary objective is to incite a dancefloor riot, and each track is always driven by addictive, pulsating beats. In conjunction with a signature sound, Rifo has created a distinct visual aesthetic as well. Taking cues from comic books, Rifo and his onstage partner, DJ Tommy Tea, wear masks while performing to create alter-egos for themselves. The controlled chaos that defines The Beetroots are embodied by the music videos for "Cornelius" and "Warp 1.9." The two clips shine a light into a world where mosh pits and general punk rock revelry collide with dance-all-night club culture. It’s a hell of a time, if you can make it out alive.
